Kazakhstan Foreign Minister meeting NATO Special Representative for the Caucasus and Central Asia

Kazakhstan Foreign Minister Marat Tazhin met Robert Simmons, NATO Special Representative for the Caucasus and Central Asia, in Astana.

Kazakhstan Foreign Minister Marat Tazhin met Robert Simmons, NATO Special Representative for the Caucasus and Central Asia, in Astana.

As R. Simmons noted at the following meeting, in the course of his visit he intended to discuss issues of cooperation between Kazakhstan and NATO with the leadership of a number of Kazakhstan Ministries and Agencies. “Some new ministers have been appointed in Kazakhstan in those particular realms where we have maintained strong cooperation. I’ve come to meet them and enhance cooperation with your nation”, he added.

In January 2006, upon a series of consultations and talks, Individual Partnership Action Plans between NATO and Kazakhstan was adopted. Next month we plan to assess implementation of the Plan for the past year, R. Simmons said.
