For the 9 months starting from the launch of the amnesty campaign, the overall value of property brought back to legal economy totaled KZT 193 billion. This was the figure announced today by the Prime Minister Karim Massimov in a live program on amnesty issues broadcasted on the “Kazakhstan” channel.

This was the figure announced today by the Prime Minister Karim Massimov in a live program on amnesty issues broadcasted on the “Kazakhstan” channel. Prime Minister noted that over 1 million 400 thousand citizens had so far sought to have their shadow properties duly registered. “Registration of shadow real estate and capital is prerequisite to shaping of a competitive national economy. This effort is of prime importance both for tackling corruption and for reducing the shadow economy”. Among the live broadcast participants there was Justice Minister Zagipa Balieva, Finance Minister Natalia Korzhova, Industry & Trade Minister Galym Orazbekov, and Bakhyt Ospanov, President of the Agency for Land Resources Management. Ermukhamet Ertysbayev, Minister of Culture and Information, moderated the event.
