Today Kazakhstan Prime Minister Karim Massimov and John Stuttard, Lord Mayor of the City of London, discussed further prospects of cooperation between Kazakhstan and Britain in the realms of banking and finance.
Enhancement of bilateral cooperation with Great Britain is a major vector in Kazakhstan’s foreign policy, K. Massimov said.
”We consider it important to maintain this trend and give a new impetus to bilateral relations between the two nations. I would like to single out the valuable support you have been rendering to bolster the bilateral economic cooperation, especially support to the Regional Financial Center of Almaty (RFCA), our stock market and Kazakhstan’s national economy diversification”, Head of the Kazakh Government said.
Besides, PM K. Massimov met Pierre Morel, EU Special Representative for Central Asia. It was noted that Kazakhstan and EU had recently established ties in such promising realms as investments and industrial innovations, S&MB, space industry, and macroeconomic dialogue.
”We welcome the EU Commission’s decision to include Kazakhstan into the Competitiveness and Innovation framework Programme”, K. Massimov said.
Besides, Prime Minister expressed Kazakhstan’s keen interest in further enhancement of “strategic energy-related dialogue” with the EU, including development and implementation of projects to ensure alternative routes for hydrocarbons supplies to the European markets, calling for European investments into pipeline infrastructure in Kazakhstan.
