The issue of constructing the transcaspian pipeline is only being discussed introductorily, said Kazakhstan Foreign Minister Marat Tazhin when answering a foreign journalist’s questions.
”A possible solution to this issue depends on three components. First of all, the issue of legal status of the Caspian Sea should be resolved. As long as the legal status remains undecided, it’s extremely difficult to be talking of the transcaspian pipe constriction”, M. Tazhin said. The Minister also pointed to the technology and economic aspects of the project. “The project economy should be worked out in advance. Without comprehensive economic estimates it’s hardly possible to consider the project”, M. Tazhin summed up.
