Kazakhstan’s Foreign Minister Marat Tazhin Meets his Belgian Counterpart Karel de Gucht
On Tuesday afternoon, following a joint sitting of the OSCE and EU Troikas, Kazakhstan’s Foreign Minister Marat Tazhin met Foreign Minister Karel de Gucht of Belgium in Brussels.
“Belgium presided over the Organization in 2007 and in the first half of 2009 the nation will chair the Council of the European Union, while Kazakhstan will chair the OSCE. To ensure consistency and to activate dialogue between the OSCE and the EU, the sides agreed it was important to maintain close contacts and facilitate interagency consultations”, Kazakhstan’s Foreign Minister said.
He also announced a number of anticipated visits to Kazakhstan, including a visit of Antwerp governor. This city is a global transit hub. Its experience and interaction with Kazakhstan’s economy will be of great use.
