Governments of Kazakhstan and Japan Sign Agreement on Peaceful Uses of Atomic Energy
In Tokyo Akylbek Kamaldinov, Kazakhstan’s Ambassador to Japan, and Katsuya Okada, Japan's Foreign Minister, signed an intergovernmental agreement to cooperate on peaceful uses of atomic energy.
Signing of the document is a result of highest level agreements reached during President Nazarbayev’s visit to Japan in 2008 and during Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi’s visit to Japan in 2006.
The agreement is a founding document to develop cooperation between the two nations in nuclear industry and a great contribution to strengthening of strategic partnership between Kazakhstan and Japan.
