Trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Austria reached USD 1.5 billion as of the end of 2009

Kazakhstan’s Foreign Minister Kanat Saudabayev had a telephone talk with his Austrian counterpart Michael Spindelegger.

Michael Spindelegger greeted K. Saudabayev on Kazakhstan’s chairing the OSCE and expressed support to Kazakhstan’s initiatives in its capacity of the leader of the international organization.

Mr. Spindelegger accepted the invitation to the informal meeting of Foreign Ministers to take place in Almaty July 16-17.

The diplomats expressed satisfaction with the level of bilateral cooperation; they emphasized that despite the global financial crisis their bilateral trade turnover as of the end of 2009 reached USD 1.5 billion.

The sides reiterated commitment to further development of the entire specter of political and economic ties between the two states and readiness to further maintain contact.
