Today Kazakhstan’s Prime Minister Karim Massimov paid a working visit to Uzbekistan.
In the course of the visit, K. Massimov met President Islam Karimov of Uzbekistan.
The sides discussed further expansion of trade-and-economic ties.
I. Karimov noted that in the course of the yesterday’s telephone talks with President Nursultan Nazarbayev of Kazakhstan they had discussed acute issues of inter-state relations and bilateral trade-and-economic and intra-regional cooperation.
In the course of today’s talks in Tashkent the sides dwelt on expansion of near-border trade, interaction on water issues and in energy realm, and on deliveries of agricultural produce from Uzbekistan to Kazakhstan.
The sides pointed to a vast potential of further expansion of trade-and-economic ties and reiterated interest to joint combat against challenges posed by the global financial crisis.
