Kazakhstan’s Prime Minister Karim Massimov met President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad of Iran who is in Astana on an official visit
The Prime Minister informed that President N. Nazarbayev had given a number of specific commissions related to implementation of the agreements.
Today Kazakhstan’s Prime Minister Karim Massimov met President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad of Iran who is in Astana on an official visit.
The sides dwelt on further expansion of trade-and-economic ties and implementation of agreements reached by the two Presidents at the yesterday’s talks.
The Prime Minister informed that President N. Nazarbayev had given a number of specific commissions related to implementation of the agreements.
In the course of the talks the sides reiterated importance of developing transport cooperation (implementation of projects to construct rail and motor roads; intensified water traffic between the two nations), as well as cooperation in energy, agriculture and finance.
Apart from that, the sides pointed to prospects of joint projects in chemicals and petroleum chemistry. They also expressed interest to expanding investments into various sectors of the two economies.
M. Ahmadinejad noted that Kazakhstan and Iran adhere to similar stances in all the realms of cooperation and expressed confidence in successful execution of joint plans.
“It has been proved that bilateral ties and cooperation is the best tool of achieving progress and counteracting repercussions of the global crisis”, he said.
When closing the talks, the sides expressed confidence that the specific agreements reached by the two Heads of state would be implemented and would bring the relations between the two nations to a higher level.
