The Korgas-Zhetigen railway link will enable to establish a second frontier checkpoint at the border passing and increase the freights by another 25 million tons per annum. The line will cut down the current railroad Almaty-Aktau-China by 500 km. The tender to define the concession contract holder has been scheduled for August. Through offering a short-cut, the link will enable to facilitate freights running from China to Central Asia, Iran, West Europe and Caucasus.
