Draft Housing Construction Program for 2008- 2010 to be submitted to the Government in May

Galym Orazbakov, Kazakhstan Minister of Industry and Trade, announced drafting of the State Program of Housing Construction for 2008-2010. The draft will be submitted to the Government in May.
In the period of 2008-2010, over 26 million square meters of housing is planned to be constructed. “The housing is going to be sold, including through housing construction savings, to employees of the 100 new schools and 100 new hospitals being constructed in pursuance of the President’s instructions, as well as to employees of budgeted medical and educational facilities”, the Minister informed. 2.2 million square meters of housing is going to be constructed out of borrowed funds. KZT 74.8 billion is being allocated out of the central budget for these purposes.
As for for-rent housing, 651 thousand square meters is going to be constructed out of the budget funds and private investments, 363 thousand square meters of tem being financed out of the central budget. KZT 21.7 billion is being allocated for this purpose. “Volume of financing to the program for 2008-2010 will be adjusted with due consideration of the estimated budget revenues for these years”, G. Orazbakov said.
