Portfolio of promising projects supported by the Kazakh institutes of development has reached USD 10 billion. This was announced at a Government sitting by Mr. Kairat Kelimbetov, Head of the Kazyna Sustainable Development Fund.

According to him, starting from the beginning of the current year, a number of projects totally worth USD 1 billion have been approved to be implemented in economy sectors of prime importance. At the same time, as K. Kelimbetov pointed out, institutes of development are playing a stronger role in diversification. If back in 2003 the share of investments of the Bank for Development in the total of capital investments into the Kazakh industrial sector made up only 4.5 %, its share as of today stands at 10%. The share of long-term term credits extended by the Bank for Development in the total of long-tem bank credits to the Kazakh economy has grown from 24 to 33% for the recent year to reach USD 1 billion.
”Back in 2005, average single project supported by the Bank for Development totaled about USD 17 million, while today the figure has doubled to make up USD 35 million. First projects of USD 200 million and over have been approved”, K. Kelimbetov said.
Besides, in the current year, financing to small businesses has doubled to make up KZT 24 billion.
