In the course of his working visit to Atyrau oblast, Kazakhstan Prime Minister Karim Massimov visited Bolashak Onshore Processing Facility being constructed 35 km away from the city of Atyrau.
Today he visited the artificial island at Kashagan oil field and the construction site of Agip’s facility for integrated oil and gas processing. The facility will process oil and gas of commercial quality for marketing and fuel gas for Agip’s offshore and onshore facilities. At the preset time construction of industrial buildings, reservoirs, storage areas for fuel and sulfur, power plants, supporting engineering installations and ramps is underway. At the same time pipelining is carried out.
According to an Agip KCO onshore manager, the facility’s processing capacity will make up 450 thousand barrels of oil per day. The gas processing system is capable of outputting up to 6,2 billion cubic meters a year. According to the Manager, exploitation of the facility is scheduled to start in 2010. Cost of the project makes up USD 3,5 billion.
