During his two days working visit to Atyrau oblast Karim Massimov, Prime-Minister of Kazakhstan, familiarized himself with Agip’s Caspian shelf development drilling program.
The drilling program will be expanded. This will be achieved by introducing into service two additional onshore drilling installations at the off-shore production site of the artificial island ‘D’ and keeping up drilling at the ‘A’ island with the use of the additional third drilling machine.
This month, after completion of the Vostochny-Kashagan-A07 well, testing program at the offshore facility of island ‘A’ has been completed. So far 7 well have been drilled and 4 of them tested at the island ‘A’. The data acquired during testing of the BK-A07 well confirmed preliminary assessments of the primary well flow rate per day to exceed 35 thousand barrels of oil. Together with the data acquired from three wells tested earlier, this testing indicated that overall rate of flow at island ‘A’ may well exceed 120 thousand barrels of oil per day.
