Kazakhstan Prime Minister Karim Massimov introduced the draft state program of “30 Corporate Leaders” to President Nazarbayev.
Pursuant to President’s decree as of April 13, 2007, the Government is supposed to elaborate and submit the finalized draft program for President’s consideration in Q4 2007.
”I was told by the Prime Minister today, there are concrete results in certain sectors achieved through investing and development of your business”, Head of State said when speaking at a sitting in Astana attended by reps of the Cabinet and Kazakhstan business circles. “The State will be rendering all possible support to your work in this direction; this [work] serves the interests of the nation and of the business of each one of you”.
When presenting the draft program, Prime Minister noted that it is being elaborated in close cooperation with the Parliament, akims (regional governors) and reps of business.
According to Massimov, state support to the projects can be rendered in development of infrastructure and co-financing of the projects. Optimum participation of the Government at the initial stage “will not exceed 25% plus one share”, PM added. Besides, the state will act as the warrantor, employ other ways of sharing the risks with businessmen and render political support.
