Kazakhstan’s Prime Minister has a number of meetings

Today at the Government House in Astana Kazakhstan’s Prime Minister Karim Massimov met David M. Rubenstein, Managing Director of [private equity investment firm] Carlyle Group.

The sides exchanged opinions on the current state of the global economy and discussed prospects of expanding bilateral cooperation in financial and economic realms.

David M. Rubenstein noted that his company was interested in the investment potential of the country and investment opportunities in various sectors of the Kazakhstan’s economy.

K. Massimov approved of the company’s plans to study investment opportunities in Kazakhstan and reiterated interest in further mutually beneficial cooperation.

Besides, Kazakhstan’s Prime Minister Karim Massimov met Vagit Alekperov, LUKOIL President, to discuss the current state of the global fuel and energy markets.

The sides dwelt on the company’s prospects in Kazakhstan, including investment-related initiatives put forward by LUKOIL.

On the whole, the Prime Minister approved of the company’s initiatives and instructed KazMunaiGaz leadership to carefully study the company’s proposals.
