The sides discussed further prospects of cooperation between Kazakhstan and the USA in the realms of energy and investments.
Kazakhstan’s Transport Minister Serik Akhmetov reported at his ministry’s sitting today that Kazakhstan had signed memoranda on strategic partnership with France and Japan, including in the railways realm. Besides, a memorandum was signed between the Kazakh Samruk Holding Company [for Management of State Assets] and Alstom Group that prioritizes development of high-speed service in Kazakhstan.
The stretch is expected to accommodate a number of hotels, golf courses, conference halls, SPAs, restaurants, entertainment, retailing and sports facilities.
The sides discussed issues of economic cooperation between Kazakhstan and the USA. They also exchanged views on strengthening of bilateral cooperation on investing into various sectors of the Kazakhstan’s economy.
“Kazakhstan is a strategic partner for the EU and a privileged partner for Luxembourg”, said Jean-Claude Juncker, Prime Minister of Luxembourg, following his talks with Kazakhstan’s Prime Minister Karim Massimov in Astana.
In the course of the meeting the sides dwelt on a wide range of issues related to further development of trade-and-economic and humanitarian cooperation between Kazakhstan and China.
They discussed cooperation between Kazakhstan and the World Bank, public management reforms and the country’ economic development.
The Kazakh panel of speakers included B. Sultanov, Minister of Economic Affairs and Budget Planning; S. Akhmetov, Minister of Transport and Communications.
