UNWTO Secretary-General Francesco Frangialli visiting Kazakhstan
Today United Nations World Tourism Organization Secretary-General Francesco Frangialli came to Kazakhstan upon the invitation of Temirkhan Dosmukhanbetov, Kazakhstan’s Minister of Tourism and Sports.
Mr. Frangialli will be consulting Kazakhstan on arranging the 18th session of the UNWTO General Assembly to be held in Astana in October 2009.
According to Minister Dosmukhanbetov, “The World Tourism Organization plays a major part in developing tourism in Kazakhstan. Following the organization’s recommendations and taking into account trends of tourism development worldwide, Kazakhstan has been consistently working to reasonably use unique natural places and other resources to turn the country into a popular tourist destination”.
Tomorrow at a special briefing, United Nations World Tourism Organization Secretary-General will announce an action plan to get prepared for the 18th session of the General Assembly and will also dwell on tourism cluster development in Kazakhstan.
