Kazakhstan’s PM meets EU delegation headed by Pierre Morel, EU Special Representative for Central Asia
The sides discussed a wide range of issues related to further expansion of cooperation between Kazakhstan and the EU and exchanged views on the inter-region energy cooperation and joint oil transportation endeavors.
July 25, at the Government’s House in Astana, Kazakhstan’s Prime Minister Karim Massimov met an EU delegation headed by Pierre Morel, EU Special Representative for Central Asia.
The sides discussed a wide range of issues related to further expansion of cooperation between Kazakhstan and the EU and exchanged views on the inter-region energy cooperation and joint oil transportation endeavors.
Karim Massimov reiterated Kazakhstan’s commitment to its multi-vector policy in terms of energy transpiration and voiced support to EU initiatives to transport more oil southwards.
When discussing the Kashagan project, Prime Minister noted that “the parties have struck a compromise on all the issues involved. Now the relevant documents are being executed”.
P. Morel pointed to Kazakhstan’s key role in promoting projects to develop extra corridors to facilitate hydrocarbons exports.
The sides have agreed to further strengthen cooperation and mutually beneficial contacts to hit the set targets.
