Kazakhstan plans grain harvest of 15.5 million tons
This year Kazakhstan plans grain harvest of 14.5-15.5 million tons, this was announced by Vice Minister of Agriculture Arman Evniyev.
“Last year’s level is hardly to be reached: that was a record year and records don’t happen every year. This year we are expecting a harvest of 14.4-15.5 million tons”, he said.
In the 2009-2010 marketing year Kazakhstan exported 8.3 million tons of grain. Which is 36% up against the previous marketing year, Vice Minister elaborated.
He also said that “traditionally” Kazakhstan has been exporting about 6.5 million tons of grain and flour a year and that this year the volume will not be less than that.
