New governor of the South Kazakhstan oblast appointed
Mr. Nurgali Ashimov has been appointed the new akim (regional governor) of the South Kazakhstan oblast. The new akim has been introduced by the Kazakh Prime Minister Karim Massimov to the local bodies.
Mr. Nurgali Ashimov has been appointed the new akim (regional governor) of the South Kazakhstan oblast. The new akim has been introduced by the Kazakh Prime Minister Karim Massimov to the local bodies. Before this appointment, the governor’s post was held by Mr. Umirzak Shukeev who has now been named the new Vice Prime Minister.
Mr. Ashimov was born in 1959. Graduated from the Moscow Institute for Economics and Statistics. His professional record includes position of the Director General at Intergas CentraI Asia; position of the KazTransGaz president; post of the first vice minister of energy and mineral resources. Before this appointment he served as akim of West Kazakhstan.
