Kazakhstan’s economy performance in H1 2008
Kazakhstan’s Government at an extended session tallied results of the economy performance in H1 2008.
Production output growth has been seen in all sectors except for processing industries.
GDP growth for January – June 2008 made up 5.1% year-on-year.
Industrial production output grew by 3.8% y-o-y.
Gross agricultural production output augmented by 4.2%.
Capital investments grew by 12.4 %.
Construction services’ growth made up 10.7 %.
In January-May, monthly average nominal wage stood at KZT 56686, 17.3 % up as compared to the like period of 2007. Monthly average wage in real terms fell by 1.4% y-o-y.
Unemployment rate in Q2 made up 6.6 % (while the figure for Q1 2007 stood at 7.3 %).
