Environment Ministry denies intentions of suspending Agip KCO’s operations
Kazakhstan Environment Minister Nurlan Iskakov refuted the information previously run by some media outlets that the Environment Ministry seeks to suspend Agip KCO’s operations.
At a meeting with the members of the Majilis Committee for Environment and Subsoil Use held Nov. 6 at the Environment Ministry, the Minister said that suspension of the Agip KCO’s operations in Kazakhstan is not considered.
N. Iskakov stressed that the Ministry has been paying special attention to environment issues related to Caspian oil developments. Therefore, the Ministry has been carrying out consistent work to ensure observance of the national environment legislation.
