Kazakhstan’s Prime Minister Meets IMF Mission Head
The sides discussed the current state of the Kazakhstan’s financial and banking system.
October 23 at the Government’s House in Astana Kazakhstan’s Prime Minister Karim Massimov met Ana Lusia Coronel, Head of the IMF Mission in Kazakhstan.
The sides discussed the current state of the Kazakhstan’s financial and banking system.
Notably, Prime Minister briefed on external debt restructuring process in BTA Bank and Alliance Bank of Kazakhstan, as well as on measures taken by the national Government to stimulate loans to the economy.
Besides, the parties dwelt on the current macroeconomic situation in Kazakhstan and the Government’s measures to procure positive growth of the economy in 2009. IMF representatives pointed to the positive trend towards the economy recovery in Kazakhstan.
The sides also discussed policies to manage the National Oil Fund assets and issues of borrowing from foreign sources.
