Moscow hosts bilateral meeting of Kazakhstan and Russia Prime Ministers

In Moscow, alongside consultations of the Customs Union Troika of Heads of Government, Kazakhstan’s Prime Minister Karim Massimov met his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin at a bilateral meeting.

According to the Russian Prime Minister, the meeting offered “another opportunity to look at how relations between the two nations are developing”. “Trade turnover between our nations is on the rise; we are entering a post-crisis stage. We are glad to see how the Kazakh Government is tackling after-effects of the global financial crisis”, V. Putin said.

“Given the close ties and interdependence of our economies, I believe that we will be finding timely practical responses to what is going on in our economies and will be exchanging experience”, he said.

“Relations between Kazakhstan and Russia have always been at a high level… I believe that agreements reached today towards launching a Common Economic Space will further harmonize our economies, and enterprises will gain an effective opportunity to support integration processes within common markets”, Kazakhstan’s PM Karim Massimov said.
