Astana hosts the VII sitting of the Kazakh-German intergovernmental committee
Following the sitting of the VII sitting of the Kazakh-German intergovernmental committee on ethnic Germans living in Kazakhstan, Vice Foreign Minister Kairat Sarybai of Kazakhstan and Bundestag deputy Dr. Christoph Bergner signed a joint communiqué.
“It would be beneficial to the governments of both countries if the ethnic Germans living in Kazakhstan further added to development of partnership relations between the two nations”, K. Sarybai told a briefing.
He said that in the course of the sitting the sides had focused on culture and education projects, youth policy, social protection of the population, and tourism. He also noted that the Renaissance Association of ethnic Germans in Kazakhstan had been actively involved in social projects.
Germany’s experience in rendering support to ethnic German communities abroad is of great interest to Kazakhstan, K. Sarybai said.
He also said that the sides had agreed to work on enhancement of visa procedures. “German missions have been issuing visas in two Kazakh cities. Diplomatic representation offices of Germany are among record breakers in terms of visas issued to Kazakhstan citizens traveling to the EU. “However, we have agreed to do our best to enhance the visa procedures”, K. Sarybai said.
