Vice Minister of Economic Affairs and Budget Planning Reports on H1 Results
When reporting on economic development in H1, Mr. Berdibek Saparbayev, Vice Minister of Economic Affairs and Budget Planning, noted certain escalation of inflation.
For the first half of 2007 the investment portfolio of the Kazyna Sustainable Development Fund grew to comprise 183 projects [approved for financing] totally worth USD 5.2 billion, with the share of funds allocated by institutes of development standing at USD 1.8 billion. This was announced by Mr. Kairat Kelimbetov, Kazyna Chairman of the Board, at a government’s sitting.

The Government’s work to be measured by structural reforms
At a Government’s sitting, Kazakh Prime Minister Karim Massimov outlined a number of tasks to be accomplished in the nearest time.
“The new project to create national transport strategies of Central Asia states will facilitate raproachment of transport-related interests of the regions and will contribute to creation of joint advanced regional transport infrastructure enabling to cut down the freight deliveries’ costs”, said Ms. Saltanat Rakhimbekova, Head of the Transport Policy and International Cooperation Department of the Kazakhstan Ministry of Transport and Communications.
According to the Agriculture Ministry forecasts, this year’s grain harvest will total 17.8 million tons when bunkered. This was announcement made by Mr. Talgat Azhgaliev, Vice Head of the Crop Farming and Phytosanitary Safety Department, at a Ministry’s sitting chaired by Minister Akmetzhan Essimov.

Contracts with foreign extraction companies shall be respected by both sides
