The sides exchanged their views on the current situation at the global financial markets, discussed issues of bilateral cooperation in banking and dwelt on efforts taken by Sberbank to boost operations in the Kazakh financial market.
As of June 2009, Kazakhstan’s national economy grew 1.4% on June 2009. This was announced by Bakhyt Sultanov, Economy Minister, at a government's sitting.
In the course of the meeting the sides discussed further development of bilateral cooperation between the two nations on a wide range of issues.
The sides dwelt on global financial markets, anti-crisis programs launched by the Governments of Kazakhstan and Great Britain, as well as on problems faced when implementing economy stabilization programs.
The sides focused on the current economic policy of Kazakhstan and exchanged their views on global economy development prospects for 2009 and the following years.
Today at the Government’s House Kazakhstan’s Prime Minister Karim Massimov met US Under Secretary of State William Burns.
